Update 12:30 p.m. – Main Arterial Opens in Kenmore

Kenmore, Wash. – Northeast 170th Street between 68th Ave NE and 7400 block has reopened. Northeast 170th Street turns into Simonds Road NE, a main arterial connecting to Juanita Drive on the west and 100th Ave NE on the east. The road closed when a creek jumped the banks and flowed onto NE 170th Street. Crews spent days removing water and debris from the roadway.

The following road closures remain in effect:

• 60th Ave NE between NE 198th Place and NE 200th Court (one lane open)
• NE 163rd Street between 74th Ave NE and 76th Ave NE

The City of Kenmore Emergency Operations Center is closed. Staff will be accepting phone calls in regards to flooding issues at 425-398-8900 during business hours; 206-296-8100 after-hours.

Sand and bags are still available for Kenmore residents at the Kenmore Park & Ride located at 18201 68th Ave NE. Residents are encouraged to store sand bags in case of future events.

It is unknown how long these closures will remain in effect at this time and City of Kenmore urges citizens to use alternative routes in these conditions. Updates will be provided as available.
