Kenmore Residents Provide Feedback at Public Workshop for Permanent City Hall
Kenmore, Wash. – Early design is underway for a permanent City Hall in Kenmore. The first public workshop on City Hall was held on November 7 and drew about 60 people with their ideas and comments for how the City Hall should take shape. There was considerable interest in public meeting spaces and structured parking among the comments received.
In July, the City purchased property located on the east side of 68th Ave NE between NE 181st and NE 182nd from the Northshore Utility District. The 1.6 acre site was chosen by the City Council following a detailed site selection process. Its location is across the street from the Kenmore Village project--these two new projects will be instrumental in transforming Kenmore's downtown to a pedestrian friendly area with additional services and activities.
The City Hall is scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2009--the current city hall is located on property that will become part of the Kenmore Village project, and its construction will begin at that time.
The next public workshop will be scheduled in January, when the design team will present schematic design information. Weinstein AU is the project architect and Olympic Associates are providing project management services for the City. Weinstein AU is also designing the King County Library System's Kenmore Library.
Questions on the project can be directed to Nancy Ousley, Assistant City Manager at 425.398.8900 or nousley@ci.kenmore.wa.us
