The Saint Edward Environmental Learning Center Wild Wednesday in the Park was launched in 2008 and each summer since then, children and families have come to Saint Edward State Park each Wednesday in July and August to explore many natural wonders such as owls, trees, clouds, and bats. All classes are at St Edward State Park, meet at the kiosk west of the park office. More info at www.seelc.org

If you enjoy exploring the natural outdoors, we invite you to participate in the City’s free nature walks this summer! On the second Monday of each month, May through October, the City of Kenmore’s volunteer leader Linda Phillips is offering guided tours of Wallace Swamp Creek Park, with the first tour starting Monday, April 9.

The nature walk will be approximately one-and-a-half to two hours and will explore two miles of paved and primitive trails through the 25 acres of the park. Leader Linda Phillips will focus on the plants and animals found in the park.

Join the Kenmore Heritage Society free War of the Worlds event at The Hangar for a fun and unique event! Their multi-media presentation will recreate the national radio broadcast of "WAR OF THE WORLDS," a fictional story by H.G. Wells about an invasion by Martians. The radio theater event was intended to entertain, but frightened Americans who believed an invasion actually was taking place.

Come join us at the annual park cleanup event, Jack V. Crawford ‘Courtesy is Contagious in Kenmore’ Day, on October 20 from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm at Log Boom Park. The event is in honor of Kenmore’s first mayor and his contributions to the City. Volunteers are needed to help remove invasive plants and pick up trash. If you have them, please bring your own work gloves.
