Special Events Volunteers
The City, along with supporting business sponsors and volunteers, offer a variety of special events each year to bring together the community and celebrate Kenmore. The four major events offered each year are: 4th of July Fireworks Show (July 4), Summer Concert Series (Thursday evenings in July and August), Kenmore Play Day (August), and the Christmas Tree Lighting Festival (First Friday in December). On-going volunteers and one-time volunteers are needed to implement these large City events. If you are interested in volunteering, fill out the volunteer intake form and contact the City's Volunteer and Events Supervisor.
KET (Kenmore Events Team)- 18 years and older/ 1 year time commitment
Kenmore Events Team is essential to the success of Kenmore’s Special Events. KET is a team of dedicated individuals that assist City staff in planning and implementing the City’s 4 major events offered each year. These volunteers are required to attend a special event training session, orientation, and are encouraged to be first aid/ CPR trained. KET positions include: Event Operations & Logistics, Event Concierge & Volunteer Coordination, Parking and Security, Sponsorship & Marketing, Entertainment and Children’s Activities, Hospitality Coordinator, Event Assistant (4).
Application/ Selection process occurs in February each year to fill open positions.
Event Volunteers- 14 years and older
Event volunteers are one-time volunteers who work 1 or more events each year. These event volunteers can assist KET in parking, set up and take down, security, maintenance support, event area supervision, children’s activities, pre-event planning and preparation, and marketing distribution.
