City Departments

City Manager's Office

The City's Manager's office provide management direction of all City departments and activities in accordance with City Council policies and direction, administrative support to the City Council, and contract administration. In addition, the City Manager and Assistant City Manager represent the City within the community and on regional issues to advance Kenmore's priorities and interests. The City Manager's office also oversees the City's legal services, public records requests, communications program, and events program.
 

Development Services

The Development Services is responsible for oversight of proposed development through the development review process and oversight of permitting throughout the City.
 

Finance & Administration

The Finance and Administration department consists of financial and accounting services, personnel services, risk management, and city clerk services.
 

Fire & EMS

The Northshore Fire Department headquarters is located in Kenmore and services the communities of Kenmore and Lake Forest Park. Northshore Fire is dedicated to protecting the health, life, and property of the community with professionalism, respect, and integrity.
 

Planning & Community Development

Community Development is responsible for developing long-range planning policy and assessment and development of land use policies and land use strategy.
 

Police

The City contracts with the King County Sheriff's Office for police services. The police department is dedicated to making Kenmore a safe community to live, work and visit.
 

Public Works

The Public Works Department is responsible for project management of capital improvement projects; managing the transportation improvement program and the surface water management program; site plan review of development projects; and operation and maintenance of the City’s infrastructure including streets, traffic, surface water, and parks.
