David Baker Mayor, Position 5
|
David is a 59-year-old husband and father of three. He and his wife Sheri live in Kenmore. David owns an Internet based cell phone service company that specializes in cell phone repairs and accessories.
David was raised in Los Angeles and educated in Los Angeles Public Schools. He moved to Nebraska in 1972 and received a RN degree in 1974 from Iowa Western Community College. He attended the University of Nebraska and received a BS in 1978 and a Masters of Science in 1979. David moved to Kenmore in 1995 after receiving a Ph.D. from Iowa State University.
As your elected representative, I’ve held the line against property tax increases and spearheaded the move to lower utility taxes. I support balanced budgets, ensuring the Council spends tax dollars to benefit Kenmore citizens. I will continue to work hard to improve our local traffic problems, be a strong voice on regional issues that are important to the future of our city, and help provide our business community with the environment it needs prosper. I will encourage sound financial policy and a balanced budget.
As a business owner in Kenmore, I support efforts to retain existing businesses and promote economic development. I’ve worked for affordable housing in the new downtown and while preserving our single-family neighborhoods. I believe in a long term sustainable environment and that all new developments should contribute to sustainability.
Working together, we can provide for Kenmore's economic vitality, develop fiscally responsible solutions to problems, and ensure a bright future for ourselves and our children.
David represents the City of Kenmore on several local and regional committees: King County Regional Transportation Committee; Seashore Transportation Forum; Suburban Cities Board of Directors; Suburban Cities Public Issues Committee; King County Solid Waste Committee; King County Joint Resolutions Committee; North King County Economic Development Committee; King County Jail Assembly; King County Flood Control Zone District Advisory Committee; National League of Cities Information Technology Steering Committee; and Association of Washington Cities Committees: Legislative, Municipal Finance & Economic Development, Land Use & Planning, Nominations Committee.

Milton Curtis Deputy Mayor, Position 1
|
Milton Curtis and his wife Jeannie have lived in Kenmore since 1991. Milton has two married children and four grandchildren. Milton has been a Family Medicine Doctor for 26 years. For the past nine years, he has been practicing in Kenmore.
As a Kenmore City Councilmember, Milton's two primary concerns include transportation and development. To improve transportation, Milton hopes to work to gain funding to improve Bothell Way and to work with Metro and Sound Transit to improve public transportation. Milton encourages development of a vibrant downtown where residents can proudly take out of town guests to shop, relax and enjoy the views. He also would like to work on maintaining Kenmore's present neighborhood feel through development of infill regulations governing entire areas rather than individual properties. Milton always wants to maintain open communication between citizens and the City Council.
Milton served on the Kenmore Downtown Planning Commission from 2001 to 2003 and the Kenmore Downtown Task Force from 2004-2007.

 Randy Eastwood Councilmember, Position 4
|
Elected to the Council in 2005, Randy Eastwood served as Kenmore’s fifth Mayor from January 2006 through January 2008.
Randy and his wife Nancy have been married for almost 16 years and are the proud parents of two girls and two boys. The young family is often out on the Burke-Gilman trail or one of the parks in the city enjoying the beautiful region that we are blessed to live in.
Randy is the Broker/Owner of a residential real estate investment firm, and has helped countless families become homeowners and numerous homeowners build wealth in their communities during the course of his 15 year career.
Randy currently serves on a national committee with the National League of Cities’ Council on Youth Education & Families and serves on the University of Washington-Bothell Business Development Center board.
Outside of his Council assignments, Randy serves on the board of Wonderland Developmental Center—A birth-to-three developmental center that helps young children born with developmental delays.
Randy believes that Kenmore is a wonderful open canvas that begs for you and our neighbors to add color, vision and life to.

 Laurie Sperry Councilmember, Position 2
|
Laurie and her family have lived in Kenmore since 1991. Her husband Van grew up in Kenmore during the 50’s and 60’s and remembers a Kenmore where open fields and forest were more common than houses.
Laurie grew up in a military family and lived all over the United States including in Alaska and Hawaii. She went to college in Eugene, Oregon and moved to the Seattle area in 1979 to begin her career in healthcare. She worked at University Hospital, Children’s Hospital and Children’s Homecare before “retiring” in 1998. Since 2000, Laurie has worked in education, most recently at Kenmore Jr. High.
Laurie has served as a councilmember since 2006. She also serves on a number of regional committees including: Eastside Transportation Partnership, Water Resource Inventory Area 8 (Salmon Recovery), Northshore Parks and Service Area (Senior Center, poss. Aquatic Center), and the Kenmore Library Advisory Board.

 Glenn Rogers Councilmember, Position 7
|
Councilmember Glenn Rogers was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. He attended Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon graduating in 1970 with a Political Science degree. After serving in the Air Force between 1970 and 1974, he moved to Seattle with his family and entered the Bon Marche' management program. After five years he moved to the Boeing Company, serving there for the last 29 years in procurement.
Glenn and Ruth, his wife of 38 years, raised two boys during the 25 years they have resided in Kenmore. Glenn has been involved in Kenmore's grassroots process as co-founder and past chairman of the Kenmore North Neighborhood Association and past chairman of Citizens for a Better Kenmore leading a successful campaign to limit gambling in our City. Glenn is aware that many challenges face Kenmore, the most urgent of these include a renewal of trust and real time communication with our citizens, economic growth, traffic, the implementation of a viable downtown plan and pedestrian safety.
Glenn's 34 years of experience leading and building teams in the corporate setting will be invaluable in helping to maintain a family friendly community for our citizens and continuing to develop a business friendly city.
