Street Parking

On-street parking is available throughout the City of Kenmore consistent with the Washington State RCW legal requirements.  Those requirements can be found at RCW 46.61.570.  Per these requirements, there is no parking;

  • 30 feet from an intersection
  • 20 feet from a crosswalk
  • 15 feet from a fire hydrant
  • 5 feet from a driveway radius

In locations where roadway geometry or other factors creates sight distance concerns, the City of Kenmore will post parking restriction signage. Drivers are allowed to move forward to the edge of travel lane to gain sight distance, as shown on this handout. The City of Kenmore does not paint curbs for parking restriction, but does allow private property owners to paint curbs near driveways when there are on-going violations of RCW requirements for parking.  You can request an approval for this curb parking by contacting Tobin Bennett-Gold, Traffic Engineer.

Parked vehicles must be moved every 24 hours (RCW 46.55.010)  to avoid being tagged and towed by the Kenmore police.

City of Kenmore code restricts parking from 10am to 3pm at mailboxes to prevent mail from not being delivered. Changes to mail delivery schedules mean that mail is occasionally delivered outside of these hours.  Please consider the effects on mail delivery when parking near a mailbox during business hours.

Parking in the Kenmore Downtown (68th Avenue and NE 181st Street) is limited in a number of areas to 2 hours between the hours of 8:00am and 6:00pm.  Parking at Log Boom Park is restricted to 4 hours while the park is open.
